Will Conficker be Y2K redux?

Computer
Conficker C is predicted to go live on April 1. Is it April fool's day hoax or a serious security threat?

Whatever the hype around this naughty worm is, it just feels like Y2K all over again.

The good news... so far... is that Conficker seems to be quiet in Europe and Asia where it's already April. But the security expert warned that the state of the art botnet attribute of Conficker intends to lurk around the network and wait for the worm's author's command for attacks.

Oh well... a hoax or a real threat? I'm too tired to care at this late night hour. I slept through Y2K, woke up and found the world still remained the same. So now I'm going to bed and sleep through April 1 midnight. If I wake up tomorrow morning and find my computer goes haywire or the world has turned into Armageddon, so be it. Need my beauty sleep now. Good night.

PS. Some really good articles to read about Conficker.
