  • Sting was born on October 2, 1951 in Wallsend, England.

  • Niels Bohr, founding father of quantum physics, was born on Oct 7, 1885 in Copenhagen, Denmark.  He received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922.  He was also one of the founding members of CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) in 1954.  Bohrium (Bh 107) is named after Bohr.  Here is a great bio.
  • Former Weezer bassist Mikey Welsh was found dead in a Chicago hotel room on Oct 8.  He was 40.  (NME)
  • John Lennon was born on Oct 9, 1940 in Liverpool, England.
