  • Kurt Cobain died in Seattle on April 5, 1994.

  • Julius Robert Oppenheimer, one of the most important scientists of the 20th century, was born in New York City on April 22, 1904.

  • Blues guitarist Albert King was born in Indianola, Mississippi on April 25, 1923.
  • Cy Twombly was born in Lexington, Virginia on April 25, 1928.  He is known for his large-scale, freely scribbled, calligraphic-style graffiti paintings.  See the gallery of his paintings.
  • Actor Hank Azaria was born in Queens, New York on April 25, 1964.
