Rocking Holiday with 60s Garage Rock!

Music has always been the most important element in my life. Grew up listening to 60s garage rock and blues which strongly influence me with the organic rock melodic approach.

There was a AM radio station in San Francisco broadcasting an one hour program of 60s garage rock every morning at 2 o'clock while I was a teen. I would get up in the middle of the night and glued my ears to the little radio box. The AM frequency was very lo-fi and distorted from time to time, but that didn't stop the strong melody flowing out of the radio. Good music is good music.

While most kids were into poppy mainstream music or hip hop, 60s garage rock and 50s rock and blues were my drugs. I remember I would dance along to Farmer John or Pushing Too Hard. Well it's more of jumping up and down. :P The powerful energy and creativity in the 60s rock not only defines the era but also paves the way to the modern rock. People don't make that kind of music any more. And of course there's no commercial interest in it.

Here's my holiday playlist with some of my favorite garage rock sharing with you. Hope you have a wonderful season and fantasic 2010! :)
